What People are Saying about Spindrift

"Spindrift has the most amazing selection of colours, and whilst some people find Shetland wool a bit scratchy, it does soften with washing. Give it a try! The quality is superb and absolutely fantastic for Fair Isle knitting."

Rosemary P.

"I have bought several colors of Spindrift to use in Fair Isle designs. There are many very lovely colors to work with. I especially like the way it works up. It has a nice feel and when it is blocked it fills in where needed. The finished product is amazing."

Alyce C.

About Me

Meet Catherine

I'm a knitwear designer and the founder of Sweet Meadow Knits. I decided to start the Yarn Club to make it easy and affordable for knitters and crocheters (like you!) to build a real-life library of stranded colorwork yarns to choose from... in colors that work together harmoniously. Each month you'll also get color charts, and access to tutorials to support you on your journey to color confidence. As your collection builds, I'll also provide patterns from small projects to more advanced garments.

All of the yarn is 100% genuine Shetland wool from Shetland sheep raised on the Shetland Islands off the coast of Scotland. The processing mill is also located in Shetland.

The fibers in Shetland wool, although very fine, have been stretched during the spinning process and may feel prickly before washing. Soaking or blocking your finished garment allows the fibers to relax and bloom, making the yarn feel much softer.

Yes you can! Just as with any knitting, you'll improve with practice. There are several different techniques to choose from which all give good results.
